At Old Salt Co-op, we believe great meat should reach you fast and fairly priced. We've simplified our shipping to eliminate surprise costs at checkout — what you see is what you pay. Whether you're in Montana enjoying our local delivery routes or ordering from across the country, we've built a system that keeps our products cold, our prices transparent, and our customers happy.

Special Pricing & Flexible Pickup For Montana Residents

You get 22% off your entire order automatically when selecting Route or Store Pickup. 

When Montana customers reach checkout and select this pickup method, the discount applies instantly. You get a discount for putting in the work to pick up your meat, and we get to shake your hand in person.

Three ways to receive your order locally:

1. Route Pickup (FREE) – Meet our delivery truck along our Southwest or Northwest Montana routes. See schedule and locations below.

2. Store Pickup (FREE) – Pick up Wednesday through Sunday from 11am to 9pm at our downtown Helena location, The Union, located at 361 N Last Chance Gulch, Helena MT 59601.  Beef Shares can be picked in Helena at our Bozeman Ave location. If you have questions about your order, you can call us at 406-209-8705 and leave a voicemail. We will return your call within 24 hours, Tuesday - Saturday. If you need to reach The Union directly, call 406-422-0515.

3. Home Delivery in Helena – We'll bring it directly to your door for a flat $10 fee (FREE on orders $219+). Deliveries happen on Thursday each week.

Shipping to All U.S. States 

We use two shipping methods to balance speed, freshness, and cost:

For Montana and neighboring states (Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Utah, Wyoming, and North Dakota), we ship via UPS Ground at a flat $10 rate (FREE on orders $219+). These states are close enough that ground shipping gets your order to you quickly while keeping costs down.

For all other states, distance requires UPS 2-Day Air to ensure your meat arrives fresh and frozen. Air freight costs more, so our flat rates vary by how far your state is from Montana — ranging from $55-$100 for orders under $219, and $20-$65 for orders $219 and up.

We've absorbed much of the true shipping cost to make these rates as fair as possible. The good news? You'll see your exact flat rate at checkout before you buy, and it stays the same whether you order 10 pounds or 100 pounds.
