Andrew is a fifth generation Montanan with family roots in the Seeley Swan valley and Helena areas. In addition to working many years in some of Portland’s top kitchens, he has also worked intensively the last 10 years within the local food systems space, from the culinary breeding network, to Community supported fisheries projects and local grass-fed whole animal beef programs. His passion and knowledge of wild and foraged foods is an endless source of inspiration and recreation. Big game hunting, fly fishing, foraging for mushrooms, plants and berries is the lens through which he views the landscapes of the American west. It is that connection to the land which calls him back home to Montana, and to the Old Salt Co-op vision. He is the proud father of his 16 month old son Linus and would be nothing without the love of his life Nora.
